With a little break in my tour, I am pleased to present you with another video from my live sessions at Revolution Recording! Here’s our live off the floor recording of “Lay It On Me”.
I wrote this song with Karen Kosowski and Sophie Delila in the middle of a tour in the UK back in 2013. Karen had the line ‘lay it on me’ from the start of the session and as soon as I heard that I immediately thought of that aching feeling of watching the people that I love dealing with life’s challenges and wishing so badly that I could make it all better and unburden them. As soon I tapped into that feeling, it was all so clear and the song kind of wrote itself. I love how straightforward the sentiment is, I feel like I’m saying exactly what I want to say. We’ve been opening the show with this song on tour.
Looking forward to our SOLD-OUT shows in Toronto and Wakefield/Ottawa this weekend. Can’t believe it. More shows in June too, see you soon! Take care, P
