Hi Folks,
Well… last night one of the most amazing things in my life happened. I was in the audience for Glen’s show at the Danforth Music Hall and during his encore, he started talking about having some good friends in Toronto, then asked if I was in the audience, then asked if I would come up and play a song for the crowd! I got up on stage and after some frantic thinking, decided to play ‘Still Mind Still’. Glen asked if I was open to having the band back me up, to which I replied “Of course!”. His band was made up of The Frames/The Swell Season, as well as members of Levon Helm’s band… gasp… Over the course of the song they slowly (and incredibly tastefully) worked their way into the tune, it was magic. And… after we finished the crowd gave a standing ovation to boot! I’ve been flying high ever since, meant so much to be called up like. I’m still waiting on some youtube videos to surface which I will post as soon as they happen, but in the meantime, here’s a pic.
THANK YOU to Glen for being such a constant inspiration to me. I decided I had to be a singer-songwriter for the rest of my life the first time I saw him play 8 years ago. He’s such a giving and true artist, I’m taking notes every time I see him play.
